Introduction
The KM Youth Fishing High School Team fishes virtual tournaments (no live weigh-in) and/or the MN Junior B.A.S.S. Nation series against schools in the Greater Southeast Minnesota Conference. Anglers are able to participate in one or both leagues. Both have opportunities for trophies, prizes, and scholarships.
The Virtual Fishing League is a youth fishing series that competes virtually against other anglers using the Fish Donkey app. "Virtual competition" means catch, photograph & release to replace a live weigh-in setup. Anglers are allowed to fish from a boat, kayak, canoe, or shore fish. When fishing from a boat, a certified boat captain must be in the boat. It is required the anglers partner up with another angler and come with their own boat captains.
For the Junior B.A.S.S. league, anglers will compete in the Greater Southeast MN conference as well as the state and national youth B.A.S.S Nation tournaments if qualified. This tournament league is a stepping stone to college and club level tournament fishing.
Anglers on this team are expected to mentor & volunteer with the youth team events as much as possible.
The registration cost is $275. You must be entering grades 9 thru 12 to participate in this team.
Registration costs cover MN Junior B.A.S.S. league and virtual tournament registration fees, liability insurance on the angler, seminars, classes, practices, and additional fun tournaments against local clubs and ourselves. Registration also includes an opportunity to compete for an angler of the year scholarship.
